인간은 손짓이나 몸짓, 말하기에 감정을 담아 생각을 주고 받는다. 이러한 사고와 소통의 근간인 사회적 약속을 우리는 언어라고 부른다. 작가는 본 작업을 통해 언어의 가치와 이를 매개로 한 소통의 메커니즘을 고찰하고, 근본적으로 관계의 의미에 대해 환기하고자 하였다.

Artist Statement
인간은 사회적 약속인 언어에 기초하여 사고한다. 그리고 이러한 감정과 생각을 손짓이나 몸짓, 말하기 등을 통해 상대방에게 전달하는 것을 우리는 '소통'이라고 한다. 작가는 작업들을 통해 언어의 의미와 이를 매개로 한 소통의 가치에 대해 고찰하고, 근본적으로 오늘날 관계의 의미란 무엇인가에 대해 환기하고자 하였다.
