Artist Statement

The texture of the handmade hemp fabric made from tough ramie grass is an important idea for my metal work. It is not a woven silver thread, and the fine lines from the clay-like silver called silver clay are expressed through my hands in the delicate texture of a permeable fabric such as burlap.
One side of the work is torn down, and the lines crossing horizontally and vertically from the broken side are connected to the side again to be completed. It symbolizes repetitive memories of past times. A brooch is a brooch that expresses various thoughts that appear according to emotions with waves.
The brooch is made of silver and 24K gold, It is a traditional Korean craft technique in which 24K gold is made thinner to the thickness of paper, and the silver surface is heated and pasted. It's gold overlay.
The black pearl in the form of a teardrop shape is expressed as tears symbolizing a pleasant or unpleasant mood. Silver and black pearls, which are colored with potassium sulfide and finished in black, contrast with the yellow of pure gold, giving those looking for an elegant and unique brooch a value and dignity that goes beyond time.

억센 모시풀로 만드는 수제 삼베 원단의 질감은 나의 금속작업의 중요한 영감과 표현입니다. 은사를 직조한 것은 아니며 silver clay라고 하는 점토형의 은에서 나오는 미세한 선이 나의 손을 통해 삼베와 같은 투과성 있는 직물의 섬세한 질감으로 표현됩니다.
작품의 한 쪽면이 허물어지고 그 허물어진 면에서 가로와 세로로 교차되는 선들은 다시 면으로 이어져 완성되는데 반복되는 과거 시간의 기억을 상징하고 있습니다. 감정에 따라 나타나는 여러 생각들을 물결로 표현하였고 눈물모양의 드롭 형태의 흑진주는 유쾌하거나 불쾌한 기분을 상징하는 눈물로 상징됩니다.
브로치는 은과 24K 금부로 제작되었습니다. 24K 금을 종이 두께로 얇게 만들어 은의 표면을 가열 후 붙이는 한국의 전통공예 기법을 이용한 것입니다. gold overlay입니다. 황화칼륨 착색하여 까만 색상으로 완성한 은과 흑진주는 순금의 노란색과 서로 대비가 되어 우아하고 독특한 브로치를 찾는 분들에게 시간을 뛰어넘는 가치와 품위를 선사할 것입니다.
